Regents foresee modest tuition rise at Iowa universities
Iowa Regents member David Fisher says the three state universities will likely raise tuition modestly for 2001 to 02, about 4.5 percent to 5.5 percent, to cover underfunding. He expects no double-digit hikes this year but warns of possible larger impacts in 2–3 years without fuller funding. Fisher also opposed a 53-board move to offer gay couples health benefits, calling it poor policy.
