Funeral services for Mrs. ngart, 73, to be held at family residence with later rites. Weather forecast: partly cloudy Sunday, highs 84 to 94, with scattered showers in the west portion.
The Gazette reports a head on crash near Marion left the McLaughlin family and Vestry siblings in good condition at Pershing General Hospital. Vestry, 28, of Cedar Rapids, was killed in the crash the other car driven by Linman, 20, of Fourteen Cole, also injured. The collision occurred Saturday on highway A0 east of here.
A 51 year old coder named Robert L Bruce of route 2 was arrested Saturday night on a drunk driving charge by Highway Patrolman James Glidros.
WRESTON AP An air force T 33 jet trainer crashed four miles south of Creston on Saturday. The pilot bailed out and escaped serious injury. The plane missed a farmhouse roof, damaged a tree and a chicken house, landing 40 feet west of the house. Lieut. Col. Harold B Graham parachuted into a field on the adjacent Hudy Ehin farm, en route from Maxwell AFB to Saulte Ste Marie, paused at Omaha for refueling. Graham’s hometown noted. he was hospitalized for X rays to check injuries.

Merbert Brown, 42, of 420 A avenue SE, held in city jail after a grocery store dispute with his wife led to a threat against Ralph Rowley, 62, of 61 Fourth Avenue SE. Brown chased Rowley to his home, produced a knife, and inflicted multiple cuts. Rowley treated at Mercy hospital and released. Police later recovered the blade under a cardboard box at 500 Fifth Avenue. Brown captured after a chase through Green Square. Authorities say further charges await investigation.
