Boy Killed as Younger Brother Hits Fatal foul Tip
Norman Inghram 14 was struck by a foul tip during a sand lot game in Burlington. His brother Willard 12 pitched the ball. Norman died instantly from a heart impact, with a doctor noting a likely fatal nerve break. The mother witnessed nothing until told. a fire department inhalator team failed to revive him. Survived by four brothers and a sister and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Al Inghram.

At University of Iowa hospitals a blood bank stores twenty five to thirty blood types for rapid emergency transfusions. Blood sits stored on average five days before use, allows relatives to donate for storage, and reduces reliance on professional donors. About twenty eight transfusions weekly occur at the university hospitals.

Burdick Faces Burglary Charge in Tipton County
Sheriff W W Christians escorted Harold Burdick a 29 year old WPA worker from Nevada to Tipton Cedar County after a raid on the Wilson hardware store Mechanicsville on July 5. A car seen in the alley had plates traced to Burdick who denied any connection with the burglary.

Funeral services for Mrs Ellen Shultz Held at Tipton
Funeral services for Ellen Shultz 72 who died at her son Hobart Shultz home south of Tipton were conducted at Tipton Methodist Church by Rev William Crossley. Burial followed in Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Shultz born in Jasper County and had lived in this community only a short time.
