Alliant plans 1000 MW wind expansion for Iowa grid

Alliant Energy aims to add about 1,000 megawatts of wind to Iowa's electric grid, boosting its wind portfolio from roughly 1,800 MW. If approved by the Iowa Utilities Board, the project named New Wind III could exceed $3 billion and lift wind production by more than 50 percent, with locations and turbines to be determined as regulators review the filing.
