An African American man claiming to be a Scottsboro boy, James Wright 39, was arrested in Albany on a charge of attacking a 13 year old Negro girl. He may have used the alias Andy Wright from the Scottsboro case, which involved nine Black men accused of assaulting two white girls in 1931 near Scottsboro Alabama. Wright was paroled June 9 1950 as the last of the Scottsboro boys freed.
