Willkie Endorses Bases in Ireland Scotland Debate Rages
The piece notes Wendell Willkie backing U S bases in Ireland and Scotland if needed while Senator Taft questions the purpose and pace of such occupation. It cites reports that Britain leads defense bases with American participation unofficial and questions what strategic gain would come from moving British forces.
