Open Payments data show Iowa doctors receive 69k plus charitable gifts
The Open Payments program released 2018–2019 data showing $7.52 billion in payments to about 618000 physicians and 1110 hospitals nationwide in 2015. In Iowa physicians received over $69k in charity gifts in 2014 and more than $70k in 2015. DePuy Synthes led Iowa payments at about $9.9 million, while Dr John Callaghan of the University of Iowa led local earners with over $4.27 million in 2015.
