Inductions, leadership moves mark local church and faith groups
Six members of St George s Antiochian Orthodox Church in East St. Louis were inducted Tuesday into the Order of St Ignatius with Bishop Elia Saliba presiding. Fellow inductions occurred at a Midwest conference in Omaha. Separately, Rev George Bishop was elected vice moderator of the United Presbyterian Synod of Lakes and Prairies, serving 1033 churches and 276733 members across six states. Al Palmquist will speak at a Full Gospel meeting in Long Beach, while Rev Steven Carter prepares for West Africa mission work after an ordination in Boulder. The Living Apostles quartet will sing at the Church of the Foursquare Gospel in Cedar Rapids, and Rev Harold Nieman will preach at Galilee Baptist Church in Minneapolis.
