$50 000 for Elliott Roosevelt taunts pickets in Newark
In Newark on Friday girl pickets from the United Construction workers affiliate of United Mine Workers demonstrated in front of Max well Bilofsky's Industrial Electronics. They showed signs reading $50,000 for Elliott Roosevelt but no living wages to his employer. Bilofsky claimed he lent $50,000 to the former president's son and recovered only $20,000. A picket, Elenore Soldo, said 12 workers walked out after a co worker was discharged for union activity. Bilofsky said the girl was discharged for taking a beach day amid a supposed illness in the family and cited poor absentee records.
