Education Bytes Bring Fun Summer School To Cedar Rapids
About 750 Cedar Rapids students in five schools start a zero tuition pilot summer program called Kids on Course University aimed at boosting reading for those below state benchmarks. Teachers use mixed methods and progress is reported every 10 hours to the Iowa Reading Research Center as 130 districts join the effort.

Three Die In Head-On Crash On I 380 In Iowa
The Iowa State Patrol reports three people died in a head-on collision on Interstate 380 near Swisher and Shueyville exit around 3 40 a m Tuesday. Jordan Dietrich 21 of Victor drove a 2003 Cadillac south in the northbound lane colliding with a 2007 Toyota. Djumapili Shabani 26 of Cedar Rapids and Furaha Nyabitanga 22 of Iowa City were in the Toyota. The crash remains under investigation.
