Colonel Pierce Pioneers Cheaper Faster Home Building System

Marion businessman Colonel Merle Pierce, aged 78, promotes a factory built wall panel system to cut housing costs. His Douglas Systems Inc. uses a layout table and machines to assemble wall panels for quicker, more exact construction, aiming to expand affordable homes and insulate panels at the factory for rapid move-in. Pierce, called a grand daddy of home fabrication, cites success since 1964 with panels sold in 38 states and Canada.
