Weissmuller dies after stroke in Mexico
The piece notes the possible death of Johnny Weissmuller, famed Tarzan actor, near Acapulco after a stroke. It recounts a Rose Bowl visit in Pasadena and a tavern story of Weissmuller racing a younger Oregon or Oregon State swimmer, with bets and a bounced check ending the tale. It also mentions golf course ash near Mount St Helens and Big Ten football camp tours, plus local clipping about Art Hough’s Rotary prize.
