Horses in Bellevue parade trampling leaves one dead

Two horses broke free from a two-horse hitch and charged along Riverview Drive during Bellevue’s Independence Day Festival. Thirteen others were injured as spectators aged 2 to 62 were trampled. a 60-year-old woman died of her injuries. Witness Mary Martino, Chicago native, helped shield children. Police reported the death and ongoing investigations.
