All Iowa Fair Fourth Chooses Big July Crowd
More than 25 000 are expected at the All Iowa Fair for the Fourth of July holiday if weather holds. Sunday's grandstand events include late model stock car racing at 1 00 with a 40 lap feature on the quarter mile track plus two Bells and North Door performances at 6 and 9 p m. The 9 p m show closes with a $1 000 fireworks display and the Bells single Stay Awhile has earned them gold records.
Firecrackers Blast Injures three youths in pickup
In Hopkins Missouri a pickup dashboard explosion blasted 550 firecrackers from cherry bombs to other devices injuring three Bedford Iowa youths. Richard Poorer 18 underwent surgery in serious condition while twin Roger Poorer and 15 year old Russell McLeod were reported in fair condition with partial hearing loss. The cause remains undetermined as troopers note fireworks ignited on the dashboard and the truck crashed into a ditch after the blast.

Woman Dies After Ruling Out Surgery
MIAMI. Mrs. Carmen Martinez, 72, who on Friday won court permission to live or die without pain, died peacefully Saturday at Palm Springs General hospital, with family and doctor present. Judge David Popper had ruled doctors should do all they could but she refused cut downs or spleen removal, fearing pain and liability for aiding death.

Girl Killed in Bike Car Crash at Fernald Iowa
Linda Mayfield 12 died in a bicycle collision with a car in Fernald Story County Iowa. Leon Moore 17 of Nevada drove the car and was not hurt. Authorities say the girl rode into the path of the vehicle on a street in the town.

Car stolen in Cedar Rapids recovered by quick pursuit
