Court decision saves bank costly judgment
The Iowa Court of Appeals overturned a Linn District Court ruling that could have cost Merchants National Bank of Cedar Rapids over 1 million dollars. The bank argued the trust assets valued at 1,068,012 were improperly transferred to Laura Willcockson. The appeals court found the district court lacked jurisdiction to hear the objection by Mary Ann Morrow, the Willcocksons’ daughter, to the transfer.
