Pit Bull Blackie Becomes Household Guardian and Gambler Pup
A story recounts Blackie the pit bull adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Art Mahaffey after a barter for cigars. The dog grows into a lively, obedient guardian though wary of babies and adept at mid air leaps. Separate notes tell of Idaho the dog jailed for two years before a pardon and a fatal hit and run.

Idaho the famous dog faces trial in Brockport
The Brockport case of Idaho the police dog who drowned 14-year-old Maxwell Breeze after a playful swim fueled a national controversy. Victor Fortune defended Idaho, arguing the pup was harmless and too young to intend harm, with experts noting a dog's claws cannot be used as deliberate weapons.
