Board of Adjustment to rule on Kinnick-like home appeal
Iowa City board will decide on the Kinnick like house at 101 Lusk Ave after an appeal halted the permit. Neighbors argue the 7,400 square foot design misdefines the single family use and fails site plan and codes. The Aug. 10 hearing at City Hall will include public input with notices required by law.

Marion board extends Chris Dyer contract to 2018-19
The Marion Independent School District voted to extend Superintendent Chris Dyer’s contract through the 2018-19 year, a three-year term up from two. President David Law called it a vote of confidence as Dyer earned a 2.8 percent raise to 164,480 dollars and will receive standard administrator benefits. The action followed a performance review, with the next meeting July 18 to discuss the district’s five-year facilities plan.
