Letter Bombers threaten corporations in June demand
A group calling itself B A Fox and Associates warned of 18 hazardous letter devices to be sent in June if corporations do not pay fines. The letters, mailed from Las Vegas and printed in the Shreveport Journal, named utilities airlines and construction firms, with one device exploding injuring four at a New York firm.

World Record Holder Hit by Lightning Again
Roy Sullivan of Virginia reports his sixth lightning strike, claiming a new mark in the Guinness Book of World Records for being struck more times than any person. Doctors cannot verify burns from the latest strike, and Sullivan says the danger comes from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. France withdrew its NATO troops on this date in 1956.

United Way Sets 1976 Fund Goal at 1.4 Million
The United Way board set a 1976 fundraising target of 1.965 million for the Lim county campaign, about 200000 higher than last year.
