Robert Olmstead aged 20 of 955 L Street SW was arrested at 6 20 p m Saturday on a larceny of a motor vehicle charge. He is accused of stealing a car from Ely resident William Zahradnik Thursday night from a Third Avenue SW parking area. Police spotted Olmstead driving the car Friday morning. it was found abandoned Saturday afternoon. Tools and a flashlight were missing from the vehicle. Olmstead was arrested on a warrant issued by Justice A S Rees.
John Jacob Astor and Ellen Tuck French wed at Trinity Church Newport amid a crowd of thousands jostling outside. Astor walked part of the way to the church as traffic blocked one-way streets, and the bride arrived ten minutes late. Inside the ceremony, ushers in formal dress escorted guests while the couple joined at the chancel for vows.

A blood stained car linked to John Dillinger’s Merchants National Bank robbery was found near Goodland Indiana after the South Bend hold up. Four wounded men and a slain officer marked the barrage of gunfire as Dillinger and two companions fled toward South Bend. Police and federal agents pursued across Gary and into Indiana with reports Dillinger slumped over in the getaway car after a wounded officer’s blast.
The jury convicted the Canadian premier Brownlee after more than five hours deliberation. Miss MacMillan testified she was seduced under threat of dismissal. Brownlee’s counter-claim was dismissed. Justice Ives allowed a $20,000 damage claim, with $10,000 sought for Miss MacMillan and $10,000 for her father Allan MacMillan, former Edson mayor.
Roosevelt named James A. Moffett of New York as federal housing administrator. Moffett comes from Standard Oil of California after resigning as vice president of Standard Oil of New Jersey and serving on the NRA advisory board.

The final report, on the President’s desk, urges complete separation of trade associations and code authorities across industries. Darrow, worn by heat and clashes, left for Sands Point after submitting the report.
