Lisbon History Center moves to downtown facility
The Lisbon Historical Society with help from the Lisbon High School wrestling team moved materials into the 100 block South Washington Street building late last month. The site will serve as a permanent center for Lisbon’s 125th anniversary celebrations planned for later this year. Funds will be raised this year and state grants sought to cover renovation costs. The house once sheltered Edna Whitman who died last spring. the city paid about $42 000. Much work remains before completion, and the property’s yard may become a small public parking area.
