Remembering F D R a Washington press memory piece
Dorothy Williams recalls her June 1943 White House press conference with Franklin D Roosevelt. She notes the small, informal gathering in the Oval Office, the banter with reporters and FDR's public persona despite his polio. She also recounts his 1932 Detroit campaign and the 1945 death.
