Mr and Mrs William Behrens of Arlington announce Norma Behrens engagement to Merle Lickiss son of Mr and Mrs Edwin Lickiss of Arlington The wedding is set for Sunday night February 11 at St John Lutheran church Miss Behrens studied at Luther College Decorah Mr Lickiss studied at Upper Iowa University Fayette The couple will reside in Arlington where he runs Lickiss Hatchery Also announced are Mary Charlotte Harris engagement to Sylvester Wilhelmi son of Leo B Wilhelmi of LeMars No wedding date yet Miss Harris teaches home economics in Ida Grove She is Iowa State College graduate and a Kappa Delta member Mr Wilhelmi attends Iowa State College and belongs to Scabbard and Blade Miss Mary Catherine O Brien engaged to Walter John McGrane son of Mr and Mrs Walter B McGrane of Mason City Her parents are Leo O Brien of Independence and Miss O Brien attended Rosary College River Forest Ill and the University of Iowa She is Delta Gamma member Mr McGrane is Grinnell College graduate and will receive a pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in June The wedding is planned for next summer.

Dinner and Dance Opens C R Country Club Season

The Cedar Rapids Country Club unofficially opened the 1951 season with a formal dinner dance featuring Ray Long and his orchestra. Hosts Mr and Mrs James H Maloney hosted cocktails at 2339 Linden Drive SE prior to the club event.

Current Art Show At Public Library Nears Closing

The Centennial Minnesota exhibit at the city public library art gallery will close Tuesday. After that the Art Association will replace it with its permanent collection featuring Grant Wood's Woman with Plant and Hawthorne's The Captain the Cook and the First Mate. After Feb 9 a group of photographs from Ambro Advertising Agency will be shown.
