Chicago market report shows butcher hogs steady while sows slide up to 25 cents. cattle and calves mix steady to strong with prime steers 30.25 to 32.00, vealers around 35.00, and lambs mostly steady to weak amid wide price ranges for various carcass classes.
UPI reports beef and hog markets with receipts and price ranges. Butchers list 180 to 300 lb steers at 13.85 to 16.65 per cwt and sows 11.75 to 14.75 per cwt, with Tuesday receipts about 75 000 and Monday actuals at 92 000 amid steady to lower tone.
The notice lists wholesale beef prices by weight, showing ranges from 160 pounds to 400 pounds with prices from about 13.00 to 16.50 per hundredweight, including several mid ranges and leftovers. It appears as a rough catalog of live weight pricing and truncated decimals.
