CyTown project shifts to self supporting model at ISU
ISU and its Ames campus advance CyTown into a private, self funded era with Goldenrod to arrange financing and build all main infrastructure for a blended entertainment district. The plan expands to 563000 square feet over 48 acres with eight buildings including offices, 96,000 square feet of office space, 150,000 square feet housing, 55,000 square feet retail, a medical office, an amphitheater, and a 215 key hotel. The development will be overseen by a CyTown Management Committee under a 30 year ground lease and research park oversight, with PILOT arrangements directing funds to the city after 20 years and debt repayment priorities guiding revenues.
