Cedar Rapids man shot. investigation continues
Police in Cedar Rapids investigated an 18 year old man shot on Monday on 12th Avenue and Fifth Street SE. Officers found the wounded Echols at Mercy Medical Center after a separate call reporting a vehicle leaving the scene. No weapon was recovered and witnesses are being sought as detectives piece together what happened. Echols has prior marijuana and interference convictions from 2000 and has family ties in Chicago.
