Prisons hold 4188 inmates in Iowa system
Iowa corrections reported 4188 inmates Thursday, 1023 over design capacity. North Central Facility Rockwell City housed 189 in a 100 capacity, Anamosa Men’s Reformatory 1285 in 840. Officials expect about 4200 by month end as 430 beds to come online and monitoring of gang activity extends to community based corrections.
