In Mineola New York a 79 year old woman kept neighbor Ann Cyran afloat after she fell through thin ice in a backyard creek. Cyran 67 fought to breathe while the helper Claire Fleming held her head above water until emergency crews arrived. Cyran remained in stable condition at a local hospital.
