Fees set for Cedar Rapids air ambulance and updates
The Area Ambulance Advisory Board approved liftoff 70 dollars and 1.50 dollars per mile with 100 dollars per hour over two hours for the new air ambulance service at Mercy Hospital Cedar Rapids. A separate Iowa City service via University Hospitals may begin in March under a private contractor with a 32000 per month cost. a helipad project awaits a Board of Regents vote Friday. Ground ambulances will now pay 50 dollars per heart monitor use to fund equipment and training. Ted Welch was named new chairman, replacing Austin Sparling.
