Faulty furnace blamed in mobile home fire fatal to 4 year old
A fire at the Dakota Mobile Home Park near Oxford Iowa killed 4 year old Cameron Lienau. His mother Dawn Lienau and two brothers escaped and were treated. the State Fire Marshal ruled the cause a faulty furnace. Firefighters battled subfreezing temps and fire for 1½ hours.

Bomb blasts injure six near Atlanta abortion clinic

Two Chelsea residents die in highway crash amid blizzard
Two Chelsea residents died as Ruben Alcazar 33 and Maria Alcazar 28 were killed when their car struck the left front of a westbound semi on Highway 30 five miles north of Belle Plaine. Ruben’s wife Yolanda Chavarria 25 and Maria Soliz 19 were in critical condition at St Luke’s in Cedar Rapids. Miguel Alcazar 2 and Teresa Alvaros 15 were hurt. The crash occurred during extreme snow and wind chill near zero visibility.
