Chief justice seeks 5 percent boost for Iowa courts

Aggressive cholesterol treatment keeps bypasses open
A federally funded study found that high dose lovastatin kept vein grafts open longer after bypass surgery. In 1,351 patients, four years of high dose therapy reduced graft deterioration to 27 percent versus 39 percent with low dose. LDL dropped to 93 in high-dose group versus 136 in low-dose group.
