The Hawkeye Area Council in Cedar Rapids seeks to locate all men who earned the Eagle Scout rank in seven counties as part of a Year of the Eagle Scout effort. Call 393 8426 to join the registry. Cornell lecture on the Japanese American experience

Universities get report card on hiring minorities and women
Iowa public universities show progress in hiring women and minorities in executive and managerial posts. At the University of Iowa 31 women and 11 minorities occupy 137 top jobs, Iowa State 114 women and 18 minorities of 395, and Northern Iowa 20 women and 10 minorities of 92. The rate is steady or improving but offset by losses, says Roger Maxwell, regents EEO compliance officer.
