Iowa Mennonite School to build 5.6 million performing arts center
Kalona Iowa Mennonite School plans a 5.6 million performing arts auditorium plus a two story wing adjoining the chapel. The project has 2.2 million in donations and a 24 to 30 month public fundraising campaign. Construction could start August 2002 after reaching the goal. The facility will be used daily for chapel and available for community use.

Man from Cedar Rapids dies in cruise ship fall
Michael Hepner 19 fell from Carnival Sensation during a Western Caribbean cruise after an argument with his girlfriend Rebecca Brown. He died of neck injuries from blunt impact. Coast Guard recovered him offshore before he was pronounced dead at Tampa General Hospital. Brown said Hepner had drank alcohol that night.

MidAmerican seeks efficiency credit to ease Iowa bills
