Senators Redmond and Willits argued Ray had three days after receiving the bill on May 31 to act. Rays seeks Iowa Supreme Court review to settle when the final three days of a session begin.
More than 120 tremors struck Japan's eastern seaboard Friday and Saturday killing at least 11 people and leaving 15 missing with 14 injured. Police warned toll could rise as rescue crews comb affected communities on the Izu Peninsula about 150 miles southwest of Tokyo after ten strong shocks on Saturday.
Abbie Becker, a widow in her seventies on Social Security, asked The Gazette for a small dog. Employees in the paper’s want ad department pooled funds to buy a one-year-old pug mix and vaccinations. the Humane Society delivered the dog, and Becker now seeks help naming him.
