Senator Hubert Humphrey, longtime Democratic leader and civil rights advocate, died Friday night at his Minnesota home after a lengthy cancer battle. Vice President Mondale announced the death as he returned from a Western trip, plans outlined included state funeral arrangements in Washington and Minnesota, and burial in Lakewood Cemetery.
