The Labor Department reports December wholesale prices fell 0.5 percent, the first drop in 14 months, led by farm product declines and offset by slight gains in industrial commodities. Full year 1974 prices rose 20.9 percent, the largest since 1946.

He also urged oil stockpiling, energy efficiency mandates, and standby authority to ration fuel if imports stay high.
Congress plans a three bill tax push starting with a $15 to $17 billion quick tax cut, an energy tax package around $20 billion, and broad tax reform. Rep. Altman aims for a March vote on the cut, mid May for energy, and June or July for reforms, tied to Ford proposals and rival plans.
