Discount kickoff sparks showroom traffic at Chrysler dealers

Chrysler dealers nationwide reported increased showroom traffic and some new car sales on Monday the first day of the price discount promotion. Sales manager Lewis Palombi said it started slowly but picked up in the showroom, while a St. Louis manager noted early sales of three cars before noon. The five week plan offers rebates on select models and an extra $100 for trades involving a Ford Pinto or Chevrolet Vega.

Doderer Says He Was Isolated From Faction He Fought For

Senator Doderer claims isolation from a party he fought and bled for. Senator Hill of Newton urged reconsideration of Doderer’s nomination for president pro tempore, but the motion was ruled out of order. Doderer clashed with Kinley over a demand to monitor new Democratic committee chairmen aided by two assistant leaders Sens Bass Van Gilst and Bert Priebe.

Police arrest man for Derby service station holdup

Russell A Williams 26 of 2601 Johnson Ave NW was charged with robbing the Derby service station at 1796 Sixteenth Ave SW Monday night of 50 dollars, a gallon of lemon juice and a pair of gloves after his car was serviced. Earnest 107 Ely Ave SW reported the incident and identified Williams who fled in the car. Bond set at 30000.
