One Alphabet Proposed for All Countries
Washington reports Robert L. Owen proposed a global alphabet to remove language barriers in United Nations discussions. He, a former Oklahoma senator and World Language Foundation head, said Webster’s dictionary can be spelled with 33 symbols and that nations can teach reading and writing phonetically via the alphabet. Owen argued the method enables learning other languages quickly and predicts vast gains in education and global productivity.
