Independence. Grand jurors have been drawn for 1970 at the Buchanan County court. Names include Ralph E. Belerschmitt Alberta A. Halford Louis J. Monaghan Pauline A. Frank Wilbert H. Frye Mary M. Gahan and others from Independence. They are to appear at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the court's office. Burial plans and call times referenced for area residents.
Michael R. Liesch president of the Iowa Alan of Blood Banks notes a shortage in Iowa City area last year and urges eight more donors to prevent repetition. He cites winter illnesses holidays and weather as reasons for donor shortfalls and points to national and Iowa proclamations designating January as National Blood Donor Month.
