Collins Radio Moves to New Cedar Rapids Plant
Collins Radio Company begins moving its production from its main Cedar Rapids plant at 855 Thirty-fifth St NE to a new $2.5 million plant at Avenue C and Fiftieth St NE. About 1,000 employees will transfer, with key operations split between sites. the new plant features a steel concrete shell, no windows, full air conditioning, 50-ton air conditioners, gas and oil heated floors, multiple sub stations, advanced exhaust and environmental systems, and space planned for future expansion.
