Rural road proposed from Kalona to Richmond to ease farm traffic
Washington County residents delivered 228 petitions to the Board of Supervisors seeking a new farm to market road from Kalona to Richmond. They argue the route would relieve traffic on Highway 1, despite resistance to replacing the English River Bridge with a new $2 million structure. County officials noted existing bridges and funding constraints and suggested Kalona consider matching funds.
