Blind Students Eligible for Music Awards
The National Federation of Music clubs will award two $100 scholarships to blind students in the central region of the United States. Applicants must be under 19 on March 1, 1970 and affiliated with the Federation with dues paid by Feb 1. Iowa entrants must submit a performance sample, teacher letter of recommendation, and an ophthalmologist affidavit of blindness to regional chair Mrs. Dwight D. Robinson in Athens, Ohio. A $100 award for blind composers ages 10 to 16 and a $200 award for ages 16 to 30 will be given in a manuscript competition. Compositions require a recommendation and ophthalmologist statement.
