Killian’s announces $1 million store renovations downtown
Killian’s will remodel three selling floors across downtown and Lindale Plaza. The Parkade and main building will gain expanded men’s and women’s sections, bridal gifts and a new restaurant seating about 100. Escalators and a new home furnishings section at Lindale Plaza are planned with Feb and Aug completion targets.

Power outage hits IE customers in Cedar Rapids area
An IE spokesman said a fault at a Shellsburg substation disrupted power for Iowa Electric Light and Power Co customers in Shellsburg Palo Toddville and Linn Junction Friday morning. Service was restored by 12 04 p m for most and by 2 p m for the rest. 30 years ago in 1947 Cedar Rapids parking meter income was 98946.

Gas prices rise 4.14 percent in 1977 survey
The Lundberg Letter reports a 4.14 percent rise in average U S gasoline prices from 59.4 to 61.8 cents per gallon last month. The survey covers 20,000 service stations nationwide and includes regular, unleaded and premium sold at both full service and self service pumps.
