Luana girls and boys sweep Ossian in Upper Iowa clash

Luana hosts Ossian with the girls winning 56 to 41 and the boys 66 to 25. Ossian’s Jo Deering scored 19 and Janet Felix 20 for Ossian, while Luana’s Gene Kamin tallied 17 and Blumhagen 12. In the nearby Postville game, Jim Rima 19 and Ron Jarms 14 led Postville, with Bob Butler 15 for Waukon. Dick Marsh led a Postville reserve win.

Big Ten Club Backs Rose Bowl Continuation

The Big Ten club of Southern California urged continued Big Ten Rose Bowl participation in a statement by president G. W. Purcell. Officials from both conferences meet January 4 in San Francisco to discuss the future as the current pact expires after the January 1, 1954 game.
