Man Caught Spying on Cars With Whisky Bottles
Ray Wheeler, 35, of 618 Second Street NW, was arrested by Patrolmen Simon and Stusak at 11:30 p.m. Thursday after being seen peering into cars on Eleventh Avenue between Third and Fourth streets SE. He fled but was caught. three whisky bottles were found on him, one full and two partly empty. Wheeler claimed he sold nips to New Year revelers.

C. W. Carpenter, 33, of Villa Park Illinois, was jailed after a 2:30 a.m. Friday crash while attempting a right turn at A avenue and Sixth street NE. His car struck a vehicle driven by E. G. Boyanovsky of route 3 Marion. No injuries reported and Carpenter was charged with intoxication.
