Magnitude 8.8 Chile quake rocks Talca and region
A massive quake measuring 8.8 struck central Chile at 3 34 am near Talca 65 miles from the epicenter. Buildings collapsed a cafe victim died and others were injured as aftershocks followed and a tsunami alarm spread. Authorities reported at least 214 dead with damage across roads bridges and homes. The quake was felt far away including Sao Paulo Brazil.
