Energy Secretary James Schlesinger warned oil shortages could trigger weekend gas station closures and thermostat controls in public buildings before summer. He said unleaded gasoline may rise to about 1.00 a gallon within a year and that standby conservation measures could include 65 degree heating and 80 degree cooling limits, with possible gas station closings on weekends.
A Des Moines based Grievance Commission of the Iowa Supreme Court recommended that Cedar Rapids lawyer John D. Randall Sr. be disbarred and not reinstated. The nine page filing cites years of attorney client relations with the late Lowell Myers and the drafting of Myers' will as grounds for sanction. Randall may appeal and a public hearing will follow the Supreme Court review.
