New trial denied for C R lawyer who injured his back at YMCA
Iowa Supreme Court rules a Cedar Rapids lawyer does not deserve a new trial over bias claims in his YMCA negligence suit. Benjamin W. Blackstock sued Cedar Rapids YMCA after a May 16, 1977 whirlpool slip, seeking 90000 dollars. The court upheld use of evidence on lack of prior accidents and rejected claims of improper prejudice and rushed jury deliberations.
