Fire destroys I C mobile home in rural Iowa City
Scott Powers watched as flames engulfed the mobile home at 600 Fox Trail in Regency Trailer Court Sunday afternoon. No one injured though Powers and his girlfriend Carrie Hanks were home. Powers’ children Jade and Cage were elsewhere. Fire crews from Hills, Lone Tree, Riverside and Coralville, with Johnson County sheriff and ambulance on scene, fought the blaze for hours. Red Cross offered assistance. cause under investigation by the state fire marshal.

Trial begins March 17 for E Iowa coach
Former wrestling and assistant football coach Cory Christensen 28 of Wyoming is slated for a jury trial in Jones County District Court on March 17. He faces sexual abuse in the third degree and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. A 2002 complaint describes incidents at a birthday party where he allegedly fondled a 19 year old and attempted sexual contact with an 18 year old. Christensen is no longer employed at Midland High School.
