Alley dispute pits Marion business against city over strip
Marion resident Cliff Grother III clashes with City Manager Jeff Schott over a 120 by 10 foot alley next to Jesse's Quality Used Appliances after the city tried to sell it for 2100 dollars. Grother faces trespass claims and potential cleanup and fence conditions linked to ongoing nuisance and 500 dollar removal fees. Grother plans to appeal to the City Council while council members cite repeated police checks and fence requirements to shield appliances from motorists. Grother disputes the city’s actions, arguing the land should aid his business and criticizing past investigations and accusations.
