Mrs Mollie Collins a 34 year old Frimley resident petitions tax authorities to cut her house taxes again citing ongoing nuisance from wolf whistles by workmen during a nearby highway project. Previously taxes were reduced 49 percent in 1969 but have been raised 20 percent as nuisance was deemed over. She appeals the decision arguing whistles persist at a footbridge construction site.

Career Woman Contest Rules Announced by BPW Cedar Rapids
The Cedar Rapids Business and Professional Women's club announces qualifications for its Young Career Woman contest. Entrants aged 21 to 26 as of July 29 must have at least one year of full time work in their career, excel academically or through service, and reside or study in the Cedar Rapids area. Questionnaires are due by Friday and can be obtained by calling two listed members. After review, three finalists will be chosen for interviews at the March 2 board meeting, with the winner named at the March 16 club meeting.

Japanese fishing boat crew rescues Waikiki swimmer Lois Maertz

Registration for YW golf lessons opens in March
Golf lessons for men and women will be offered during March at the YWCA. Registration opens Wednesday. Classes indoors, limited to eight students, meet once a week for four weeks.
